Comment period open through Oct 5 — proposed Arctic drilling rules

The Marine Minerals Administration is taking public comments on proposed changes to the rules for exploratory oil and gas drilling in federal Arctic waters. This is a proposed rule; no final decision has been made. Public information meetings were held in Utqiagvik on Sept 9 (6-9 PM, NSB Assembly Chambers) and online on Sept 10 (1-3:30 PM).
