The Gila River Police Department continues to seek information regarding the death of Manny Stewart, a member of the Gila River Indian Community.
Manny’s case remains unsolved, and detectives believe there may still be someone who has information that can help provide answers.

The Tohono O’odham Nation is working to stop the construction of a 30-foot border wall that would destroy natural resources and sacred sites. The Gila River Indian Community’s delegation included Governor Stephen Roe Lewis and Council Representatives Duane Jackson Jr., Kristina Morago, and Joey Whitman, who were given a firsthand look of the land that is at risk.

What we know:
Moisture from Tropical Cyclones Odalys and Polo will be pulled into the region ahead of an approaching weather system beginning on Sunday. The bulk of the moisture should arrive Monday and Tuesday resulting in widespread showers and thunderstorms.
What is still uncertain:
Where the highest rainfall totals will reside (still large model spreads in overall totals) and whether there could also be severe weather accompanying the heavy rainfall.
