Ketchikan Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) - KFD
Community-based, non-emergency healthcare program of the Ketchikan Fire Department (launched June 2024) for Ketchikan's most vulnerable residents: follow-up care after hospital visits, wound care, medications and medication compliance, wellness checks, case management, health education and substance-use support - often at no cost - to reduce 911/ER use. Partners with PeaceHealth, Public Health, Salvation Army, Ketchikan Wellness Coalition and PATH Shelter; a mobile clinic van does outreach (e.g. free STI testing with Public Health at the Salvation Army). Certified Project HOPE Overdose Response Program: free naloxone (Narcan) kits and free public naloxone classes at Fire Station 1, 70 Bawden St. Call the MIH line 907-228-2461 or email KFDMIH@ketchikan.gov (MIH is not for emergencies - call 911).
