Women In Safe Homes (WISH)
WISH is Ketchikan's domestic violence and sexual assault program: 24-hour shelter and advocacy (crisis line 907-225-9474 or toll-free 800-478-9474), Family Services counseling and case management for children and families exposed to violence, and prevention programs in schools including Girls on the Run and Let Me Run. Elinore's Place Child Advocacy Center is at 2002 1st Ave. WISH also hosts a free 12-week Nurturing Parenting class (Thursdays 5-7:30pm, dinner provided) and an annual Back-to-School Picnic with free school supplies at City Park in late August.
