WISH Back-to-School Picnic + supply drive (free backpacks, supplies, coats, hot dogs)

Every August Women In Safe Homes hosts a free Back-to-School Picnic at Ketchikan City Park (2026: Saturday Aug 22, 12-2pm) with free backpacks and school supplies, a coat giveaway from the KHS dance team, community resource tables and free hot dogs while supplies last. Ketchikan Wellness Coalition's Tongass United for Youth task force runs a supply drive in early August: drop personal-care items, gym shoes, rain pants, socks at the Ketchikan Public Library or the Rec Center, or donate online at https://ketchikanwellnesscoalition-bloom.kindful.com/?campaign=1426406.
