SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) — Alaska Quest card

SNAP provides monthly food benefits on an Alaska Quest card to eligible low-income households, with higher benefit amounts recognized for rural Alaska and use of benefits allowed for certain hunting/fishing subsistence supplies. Applicants must be Alaska residents, pass income/asset tests, and most able-bodied adults 16-59 must register for work. Apply through the Alaska Connect Portal; there is no in-person DPA office in Kotzebue, so use the Virtual Contact Center at 1-800-478-7778 or the Secure Document Upload Portal for paperwork.
