Winter Weather and Coastal Hazards Alert
Original post
9:45 PM Thu 10/22: As a strong storm in the Bering Sea moves into Western Alaska tonight into Friday, strong winds, heavy rain/snow, and coastal flooding/high surf are expected across the West Coast. Farther inland, rain/snow and winds will lead to difficult travel conditions in the Alaska Range, Brooks Range, and Western Interior. Where heavy snow and strong winds overlap, plan for blizzard conditions. Here's a look at our latest satellite view and hazards currently in effect as of Thursday evening. Impacts will build in tonight and throughout the day Friday. Additionally, we are tracking another Bering Sea storm moving in early next week. Check weather.gov/fairbanks for the latest detailed forecast information and stay safe. #akwx
