International Iñuit Day Celebration

Original post

Quvianaġli Iñuit Uvluat! Let there be cause for happiness on Iñuit Day! Today, November 7th our Iñupiaq Tribal College and community celebrate International Iñuit Day! We honor Eben Nanauq Hopson, Sr., and his vision for a thriving local educational system. "We must have Iñupiat-centered orientation in all areas of instruction." - Eben Nanauq Hopson, Sr. We align fully with Eben's words and keep "Indigenizing the institution" as a top priority for our institution-wide strategic plan. We would love to know in the comments if there is something you wish Iḷisaġvik could bring to you to strengthen our priority. Here is a great biography about Eben by Iñupiat History, Language and Culture ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wU43on_8HMI Read Eben's thoughtful address on education: https://qargiacademy.org/eben-hopsons-address-on-education/ #Inuitday #UnapologeticallyInupiaq #ilisagvikcollege #EbenHopson #AlaskaNativeHeritageMonth #AlaskasTribalCollege #Inuit #Iñupiaq #Indigenous #TribalCollege
