Calista Education & CultureAs part of the Ciutmuarluni's week-long intensive, students had the opportunity to learn from regional artist Golga Oscar.
Golga introduced students to traditional artforms while sharing his own journey as an artist and entrepreneur. Through hands-on learning and conversation, students explored how cultural knowledge, creativity, and traditional skills can grow into meaningful career and business opportunities.
Ciutmuarluni gives students the opportunity to see that career pathways can be rooted in culture, community, and the knowledge passed down through generations. Quyana Golga, for your meaningful leadership with our students!

Calista Education & Culture·KipnukCiutmuarluni is about preparing our youth for their future while keeping Yuuyaraq at the center of the experience.
Throughout the week-long immersion, students take part in daily Elder Talks, creating space for Elders to share knowledge, stories, values, and lived experience. These conversations are intentionally woven into the curriculum alongside career exploration and workforce readiness activities.
By bringing cultural knowledge and career readiness together, Ciutmuarluni helps our next generation explore where they are going while staying connected to who they are and where they come from. Quyana, Noah and Agnes, for your guidance with our youth.

Calista Education & Culture·QuinhagakWhen a changing coastline threatened generations of Yup’ik history, the community of Quinhagak took action.
Opening Oct. 2, "Nunalleq: The Old Village" shares the story of a community-led effort to preserve cultural heritage at Nunalleq, the remains of a 16th-century Yup’ik settlement on the Bering Sea coast near Quinhagak.
As thawing permafrost and increasingly severe coastal storms erode the shoreline, community members have worked alongside archaeologists through the Nunalleq Archaeology Project. Since 2009, more than 200,000 belongings and objects have been carefully excavated and conserved, offering insight into Yup’ik life centuries ago. The installation centers the work of Elders, youth and researchers sharing knowledge, language and scientific methods.
"Nunalleq: The Old Village" opens this First Friday, Oct. 2, on the 1st Floor, East Wing Education Hallway and 2nd Floor, West Wing. Read more about the project ➡️ loom.ly/BvaMAV4.
