Kawerak, Inc.OUR FAVORITE POST OF THE YEAR!
Indigenous People's day is a week away on October 12! To celebrate each year we support Village of Solomon's amazing Indigenous People's Day event with a slideshow. It's INCREDIBLE to see photos you share to celebrate being Indigenous.
There are no requirements to share! It could show subsisting, wearing traditional clothing, eating Niġipiaq or simply loving being indigenous with your iluqs. Simply post your faves in the comments!1519 shares
Kawerak, Inc.Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. While the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation originated in Canada, it was adopted in the U.S. as the National Day of Remembrance for those who attended Indian boarding schools.
Join us in honoring the children who never returned home and survivors of boarding schools, as well as their families and our communities who bear the impacts and loss.

Kawerak, Inc.Kawerak Board of Directors toured Unaataq Pilgrim Hot Springs yesterday. Thanks to the amazing staff for their hospitality and to the board members for their time and willingness to make the journey out to visit. Many board members were first-timers!
They learned about an upcoming art installation project to honor those buried on site, got an update on a developing geothermal power project, ate some lunch, toured the farm and got produce souvenirs! Some even stopped for a soak before heading back to town.
Pilgrim Hot Springs closed their gates for the season this weekend. They greeted over 2000 guests this summer and produced lots of farm-fresh produce for the region.9573 shares
