ICAS Vocational Rehabilitation — job help for North Slope residents with a disability

If a disability makes it hard to get or keep work — a learning disability, mental illness, back or joint problems, amputation, head injury, severe diabetes, seizures, a developmental disability — ICAS Vocational Rehabilitation can help with counseling and guidance, vocational training, licenses, equipment and tools, assistive technology, medical/psychiatric referrals, and support for subsistence work and job retention. It is for Alaska Native / American Indian residents of the North Slope; others are referred to the State DVR. Fill out the Vocational Rehabilitation Application and bring or send it to ICAS, 6986 Ahmaogak St, Utqiaġvik; 907-852-4227 (toll-free 888-788-4227). Updates are posted on the ICAS Voc Rehab Facebook page. The 2025 wellbeing guide adds that ICAS TVR (907-852-4227) can help with career counseling, referrals, college or vocational coursework, training and certifications, and money for tools, equipment, uniforms and assistive technology — for work or for subsistence activities.
