Native allotments, wills & probate — NVB Realty and ICAS Realty

If your family holds a Native allotment or restricted land, the tribal realty offices help for free: the Native Village of Barrow Realty Department (907-852-4411, 6090 Boxer St) helps NVB members with allotment management, transfers and gift deeds, revocable use permits, rights-of-way, mortgages on restricted land, trespass problems, drafting a Last Will & Testament, and probate paperwork with the BIA; it also handles NAGPRA repatriation. ICAS Realty (907-852-4227) does the same for members of the Naqsraġmiut Tribal Council (Anaktuvuk Pass), Native Village of Nuiqsut, Native Village of Point Lay and Native Village of Kaktovik — heirship research, title records, leases, probate. A will for restricted land matters greatly; ask either office to help you write one.
