Raina is Dena’ina and Yup’ik with family roots in Pedro Bay and Alexander Creek. She has built a distinguished career in federal service, including roles in the Obama White House and as Senior Advisor for Alaska Affairs to the U.S. Secretary of the Interior.
Raina has worked across major federal initiatives focused on Indigenous issues, climate resilience, and Arctic policy and is CEO of R. Thiele Strategies LLC. She holds degrees from Yale College and the Harvard Kennedy School and maintains strong ties to Bristol Bay, spending summers in her home community of Pedro Bay.
