About this service
NVB's Workforce Development office funds Adult Vocational Training for enrolled tribal members with at least 1/4 Native blood and one year of Barrow residency who want a trade certificate (up to 24 months of funding) or a nursing certificate (up to 36 months). Applications are accepted year-round. Fill out the AVT application and submit it with your acceptance letter and program cost to Workforce Development, 6090 Boxer St, Utqiaġvik, or workforcedev@nvb-nsn.gov; 907-852-4411. (For a four-year degree use NVB Higher Education instead — deadlines Dec 15, May 15, Aug 15.)
