Alaska's free Weatherization Assistance Program is run by AHFC through regional providers, and the provider listed for 'Northern Alaska' (which includes the North Slope villages) is RurAL CAP — 907-279-2511 or toll-free 800-478-7227, dmeister@ruralcap.org. Eligible low-income homeowners and renters (with landlord consent) get an energy audit and work such as insulation, air sealing, ventilation and heating-system fixes at no cost; RurAL CAP also has accessibility/handicap modification and senior 55+ programs.
